On this day in 2013 Luis Suarez became Liverpools first player to score three Premier League hat-tricks against the same club.
Well known for his love of netting against Norwich, Luis Suarez had scored 7 times in his last 3 games against the Canaries going into the clash at Anfield. And it didn’t take the Uruguayan long to find the Norwich goal again and after just over half an hour Suarez had already claimed a record third match ball against a battered Norwich side.
With a hat-trick before half time, two of said strikes being goal of the season contenders you’d have thought that’d be enough for the frontman. But Suarez went on to grab a fourth late on in the second half before teeing up Raheem Sterling for the Red’s fifth goal, completing a comfortable 5-1 win for Brendan Rodgers’ men.
