On this day in 1983 former Reds full back Álvaro Arbeloa was born.
Signing for Liverpool from Liga BBVA side Deportivo La Coruña in January 2007, Arbeloa quickly adapted to life in the Liverpool side, making his full debut in the 2-1 win over Barcelona at the Camp Nou in the Champions League last 16 first leg. Over the course of his two and a half year stint at Anfield, Arbeloa unfortunately was unable to win any silverware as Liverpool finished as runners-up in the 2007 Champions League and the 2008/09 Premier League campaign.
Following the 2008/09 season, Arbeloa left Anfield, returning to former club Real Madrid, having made 98 appearances and scoring 2 goals in the red of Liverpool. The former Liverpool man went on to win an abundance of trophies with Los Blancos between 2009 and 2016 (including two Champions League trophies) before returning to the Premier League in the summer of 2016 to play for West Ham United.
