In 2011, Ryan Babel left for greener pastures as he eventually agreed a 2 and a half year deal with Hoffenheim of Germany. The Dutch starlet had a hit and miss career at Anfield, best remembered for his winner against Man Utd and his nail in the coffin of Arsenal’s comeback as he scored the 4th in a 4-2 win at Anfield in the Champion’s League Quarter Final. Babel, when he signed for LFC, was the 3rd most expensive player in the club’s history and was a very good aquasition. The only downside to the signing was that he became ver predictable for opposition to suss out what he was going to do, more so than the average player anyway. After becoming out of favour with then Liverpool Manager, Kenny Dalglish, Hoffenheim came calling and he left in 2011.
In 2014, Liverpool beat Bournemouth in the FA Cup 4th Round 0-2. The goals came courtesy of loanee Victor Moses and Daniel Sturridge as Brendan Rodgers’ side cruised to the 5th round of the FA Cup.
