It’s almost like the transfer pieces have come full circle but not quite. The first piece I did was on the rumour of Quincy Promes from Spartak Moscow and how it could be plausible. But now it seems that Liverpool do not want to acquire any new signings this Transfer Window and Quincy has also said that he has unfinished business in Russia which puts a pin in any move that Liverpool may have wanted to make.
Speaking in Sports Express, the 25-year-old insists that he never thought of making a January switch to Anfield despite being a close pal of Reds midfielder Gini Wijnaldum. Obviously having connections within the club would help any move that he may have wanted but it seems that transferring to Liverpool is something that is not a part of his thought process at the moment.
Personally, Liverpool are seriously lacking pace up front and having someone like Promes come in, who is known for his pace, would have helped a great deal when it comes to the Top 4 push under Klopp. The issue of bringing someone like Promes is that he would essentially be a placeholder for Mane when he returns and this may have affected how he thought of the potential move.
