On loan at Huddersfield Town (managed by a friend of Jurgen Klopp, David Wagner), young Danny Ward signed a new long term contract with Liverpool before being sent out on loan. The Welshman looks set to be the future of the Wales National Team and could be the future of Liverpool’s team as he is only 23. He shares a birthday with fellow Liverpool player and goalkeeper Loris Karius who he may be set to face off against each other when the 2017/18 kicks off. Having signed a new contract with Liverpool only this past Summer, will Liverpool stick or twist with the Welshman?
Stick: In my opinion, the Welshman is someone who could key to the future of Liverpool’s back line. Ward, based on him receiving a long term contract, is evidently very high in Jurgen Klopp’s eyes and could very well be fighting for the position in between the sticks against Karius come the beginning of the next season. Youth is something that Klopp knows he can develop so having someone like Ward who, already this season has played 28 games for Huddersfield, has a wealth of experience as well as having 3 international appearances for Wales.
