On this day in 2016 Klopp’s Reds put six past Aston Villa as they breezed their way to three points.

Daniel Sturridge made his first start in the Premier League since October 2015 at Villa Park and it wasn’t long until he was back on the scoresheet. The England striker headed home a quarter of an hour into the first half to give the visitors the advantage. James Milner doubled Liverpool’s lead, firing a free-kick through the Villa defence and into the far corner.

The score remained 2-0 to the Reds until the second half when a red-hot 15 minute spell saw Liverpool put them selves 6-0 up thanks to six different goal scorers. Emre Can put away the third of the day from 20-yards before Divock Origi made it 4-0. Nathaniel Clyne got in on the act, bundling in from Mark Bunn’s fumble. The highlight of the day however, came in the form of Liverpool’s 6th, Ivorian centre back and beloved cult-hero Kolo Toure headed in from a Jordan Henderson corner, netting his only Liverpool goal across his three years at Anfield. Unfortunately there were no more goals to be had and Klopp’s men came away with a 6-0 win following a St Valentine’s Day massacre at Villa Park.
