Left Backs seem to be few and far between for Liverpool. It can be argued that Liverpool have not had a good Left Back since John Arne Riise and that was 2008 when he left for Roma. Right now, Milner has been used as a makeshift LB with Moreno taking a permanent residency on the bench since his horror show in the Europa League Final last year.
James Milner – Keep
Milner being kept was more to do so with his eventual climb back into midfield when Liverpool sign a Left Back in the coming Summer Transfer Window. As a Left Back, he has done fairly decent, nothing too spectacular but he has kept Moreno (an actual Left Back) out of the team so must be doing well. A constant professional with heaps and bounds of experience which Liverpool could do with when trying to push forward as a team.
Alberto Moreno – Sell
Moreno came with fanfare. A cheap Jordi Alba. A Winger turned Wingback so maybe a cheap Gareth Bale. But the performances have been average to poor which has seen him reside on the bench since the turn of the season. Keeping him would only occur if Klopp wanted to use him as a Winger but that does not seem like it will happen and, with Liverpool poised to sign a Left Back in the Summer, maybe Moreno’s days are already numbered.
