Despite no Transfer Window for another 3 and a half months, Liverpool have been constantly linked to players that would fit in Klopp’s type of “Gengenpressing” style. One for each type of position now so this could spread out over a few days…
Goalkeeper – Joe Hart of Torino/Man City
Joe Hart, currently on loan at Torino in Italy from Man City, looks set to be sold in the Summer by his current employers and could make his way to Liverpool if the Guardian is to be believed. The rumour intensified so much that even the Liverpool Echo wrote a story about it. Would Hart be a good fit for Liverpool? He is a very good keeper and Liverpool have troubles in that position so it would make sense. Whether or not City would sell to us, especially if we make it into the Champions League and they didn’t, is a different situation. I would take him with open arms if he improved Liverpool and if Klopp wanted him. He would help the English quota we have to maintain and is a good player on his day.
Right Back – Danilo of Real Madrid
Clyne has the RB position boxed off for Liverpool. But the lack of competition for that position could cause complacency and this is something that Klopp would love to avoid. Being linked in that Right Back position is Danilo of Real Madrid. Reports from the Express rumoured that he may be surplus to requirements at Madrid and could be moving to Juventus but Liverpool seem to have joined the race for the Brazilian. A good player who had a stellar season with Porto before a £30mil move to Madrid but it seems Carvajal could not be replaced as Madrid’s first choice RB. He would definitely improve Liverpool but is the price worth it? If Liverpool were to try and challenge on all fronts and, if qualification for the Champions League was to occur meaning that Liverpool would have more frequent fixtures, he should be purchased regardless of price-tag. A versatile attacking and defending full back he could even play centre back and left back if need be.
