On this day in 1978 Liverpool won their second European Cup following a 1-0 win against Bruges. 

Coming into the final at Wembley as reigning champions Bob Paisley’s men looked to add another piece of European silverware to their collection against Belgian side Bruges. A goal from Anfield new boy Kenny Dalglish was enough to ensure Liverpool won their second European Cup in as many years, sealing a 1-0 win in London.Also on this day in 1986 Kenny Dalglish won his second trophy as Liverpool player-manager as the Reds beat Everton 3-1 in the FA Cup final. England forward Gary Lineker gave the Toffees a first half lead but it was all downhill from there for the blue side of Merseyside. An Ian Rush double, either side of a goal from Craig Johnston in the second half saw the Reds run out winners of the FA Cup for a third time.
