1981, on this day, saw the birth of former Red, Paul Konchesky. The former Red was bought by Roy Hodgson durimg his tenure whoch also saw the signing of Joe Cole on a bosman deal. The English LB was rumoured for big things and was even seen as the future of Liverpool’s LB position but poor performances in a poor Liverpool team saw his tenure come to an end.
Unfortunately, the defender was most known for his mother’s social media tirade where she lambasted Red’s supporters after a 2-0 loss to Stoke. Carol Konchesky posted on Facebook the following message “Mrs Konchesky wrote: ‘To all you Liverpool scouse scum out there, never mind the cockney ****, take a real look at your team. Stop living off the past, the team are ****. If anyone made a mistake, its the cockney ****, who never should have left Fulham.” A poor decision by his mother as Konchesky was soon shipped away from the Liverpool first team.
