A Gary McAllister penalty gave Liverpool a 3-1 buffer zone going into Half Time but the game was 3-3 within 6 mins of the second half as Javi Moreno bagged a quick brace. Fowler restored Liverpool’s lead which looked to be the winner but Jordi Cruyff, son of legend Johan Cruyff, equalised in the 89th min which pushed the game into Extra Time. The Reds found their winner via an own goal by Delfi Geli in the 117th minute as Liverpool reigned over Europe as Champions.
