On this day in 1980 a true Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard, was born.

Not much more can be said about Steven Gerrard that hasn’t been said already. In simple terms he’s one of, if not the greatest player to ever pull on the Liverpool shirt. Playing out the majority of his career at Anfield before a brief stint in the MLS with LA Galaxy, Stevie won almost everything there is to win throughout his career. From personal accolades to the biggest trophies in club football, he pretty much won it all, even going on to captain his country later on in his career.

During his time at Liverpool, Gerrard played 710 games and scored 186 goals. Ever the man for the big occasion, Stevie always stood up to be counted. Having returned to his beloved childhood side, Gerrard now manages Liverpool’s under 18’s and, hopefully some day, we’ll see him go on to manage the first team.
