Liverpool have supposedly had a bid of £17.4m (€20m) rejected for Lazio defender Steven De Vrij. The Dutchman has been scouted alongside Van Dijk with the latter being ruled out of a move after news broke regarding a potential tapping up order.

De Vrij seems to be a back up plan in case the Van Dijk deal did not occur and that is definately not going to occur after today. A new bid is probably immenant after today’s horror show which resulted in an apology from LFC to Southampton. If De Vrij is indeed the player that Klopp believes in, this could happen sooner rather than later.
